About: The Seattle Children’s Hospital Care project was a design-assist contract with Sellen Construction that featured an eight-story addition to the existing hospital campus at Sandpoint. The project included shifting floor plates on levels 5-7 with varying outside corners that were not 90˚, which made the installation anything but standard. The five-foot unitized panels incorporated shadow boxes, multiple spandrel colors, multi-color decorative fin caps, and stone panels. The design also incorporated staggering vertical locations which can be difficult in other unitized systems. This project also had very strict seismic requirements for life safety which we were able to meet or exceed.
